This place is adorable. Good food and really nice ambiance. Parking can be rough. Update: I went on Memorial Day. Super busy, the line was out the door. I needed to wait maybe 5 minutes and an additional person came around and took our order while we were standing in line. I can’t believe how efficiently they ran even when busy! 6 stars!
I don't come here often but every time I do, I'm reminded of how good their pour overs are. Not sure how many other places nearby have such a selection of beans to choose from for a pour over (let alone finding a place that does a pour over at all!) but they had about 8 different beans to select from. I use Java Nation to compare against my own pour overs at home to know if I'm doing it right. Food and atmosphere are great too but I come for the pour overs.
We had a relaxed late breakfast with well-made crepes, coffee and matcha. It was a nice day and we really enjoyed sitting in the patio under the trees. The kitchen entrees were expensive, but the coffee shop items were at typical prices for the area. We’ll come here again.
I recently visited Java Nation and had a great experience. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax. I particularly enjoyed the lime pie and the honey cake—both were delicious. The latte and the flat white were also excellent, with rich flavors and smooth textures. The overall experience was quite positive, and I would still recommend it for its delicious desserts and excellent coffee.
This is a cute, vibrant place with plenty of outdoor seating. It's nice to see a great mix of people. They are pet friendly, too! We ordered shrimp tacos I was hesitant, but it was a good amount of shrimp, and they hit the spot! Other orders were truffle and arugula flatbread and pizza from the kids' menu. All very good. The margaritas are a must-order. We had flight. I am not a fan of smoky drinks, so there's that. All the other ones- original, mango passionfruit, and spicy watermelon were refreshing and delicious! They also had live music on this Saturday evening, that was a plus. We will definitely come back fro coffee and breakfast... coffee first :)
The staff was excellent. The Cappuccino was very good, one of the best I have had. The corn was very tasty and looked cool..lol
The coffee here is phenomenal and the food was delicious! My husband had a mocha latte and a veggie goat cheese omelette and I had a vanilla latte with a leak quiche. So good we came back three times throughout our trip. And yes we did order the same thing because it was just that good. The atmosphere is giving cozy cafe vibes. We saw several people enjoying a read or working on their laptops. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is kind and everything comes out hot (unless you ordered iced coffee lol). I wish we had one where I live but we did purchase coffee beans to take so we could make this amazing coffee at home! I would highly recommend this Java Nation!
A true hidden gem on Rockville Pike! For years, passing Java Nation, I thought this was a modest cafe serving pastries and specialty coffee, and oh boy was I wrong! Even prior to entering, the vibrant chatter of the outdoor diners gave an amazing vibe. The setup is to order at the counter, pick up drinks, and go find a table indoors or out doors, where they will bring your food order to you. It was a beautiful spring day, so outdoor seating was available, I am unsure how they deal with weekend brunches during colder months as the indoor area is small. Anyways, on to the food! The French Toast was magnificent with the perfect balance of crispness on the exterior and moistness on the interior. Also, there was that seared butter effect, which makes a well prepared French Toast taste so good. The blueberry pancakes were also tasty and fluffy, but they did need some butter to enhance the flavor in my opinion. For drinks, ordered the Mango Passion Fruit Refresher, which was nice and tart not too sweet and an iced caramel latte, which was solid but required a couple more pumps of caramel upon request. I will be heading back here expeditiously to try their lunch menu and cocktails!
